“清华教授贝淡宁：2035年中共仍掌权 但会改名”

贝淡宁认为，在组织结构和党指挥国家的意义上，中国共产党属于列宁主义，但不具有列宁主义的其他重要特征。 列宁主义的政治动员在中国已经成为历史。 因为它也必须顺应民意，腐败等大众运动是可能的，但大跃进等运动并不容易。

贝淡宁认为中国共产党也不是政党。 在过去的30年里，中国共产党重新确立了同样的古代中国精英体系。 通过考试选拔政府官员，同时基于他们在基础上的表现。 拥有8600万党员的中共是一个涵盖包括资本家在内的各个社会阶层的多元化组织，其目的是代表整个国家。

所以，多次称呼自己为共产党是令人费解的。 即使党员怀疑马克思主义，很多学生也害怕马克思主义必修课。
